Michael Kimber

Primary Lead, Devon and Somerset
STEM Faculty Lead, Cornerstone Academy Trust

Michael has been leading the Science Learning Partnership since its formation in 2018. He is passionate about ensuring every child has access to a quality Science education and has been researching and developing the role that student voice has within STEM over recent months.

Michael is a STEM Learning Associate Facilitator, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert and certified educator, a Flipgrid Student Voice ambassador and an Explorify Champion. When not teaching at the Cornerstone Academy Trust or leading on Science in the region, he can often be found speaking at events or running STEM or Computing professional development opportunities.

Michael coordinates all of the Science Learning Partnership opportunities and is in communication with a range of Science teaching experts and partners in the area to provide you with the highest-quality, DfE approved, CPD.

Nik Rorke

Secondary Lead, Devon and Somerset
Head of Chemistry, Colyton Grammar

Nik is the Head of Chemistry at Colyton Grammar School and has taught at Colyton for 10 years.

Nik is one of the Science Learning Partnership Leads for Devon and Cornwall and is the main point of contact for Plymouth and Cornwall Secondary Schools. Having trained as a STEM Associate Facilitator and as a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry she has delivered CPD on feedback and on metacognition. Nik regularly provides CPD at Colyton as part of their Digital Lead and Assessment Working Groups.

Alexander Williamson

Secondary Lead, Devon and Somerset
Physics Teacher, Teign School

Alex is a physics teacher at Teign School, where he has taught for the last 6 years. Having had experience with organising CPD within his department he is now also working with the STEM Learning Science Learning Partnership with a responsibility for secondary science across most of Devon.

Phil Lynch

Post-16 Lead, Devon and Somerset
Head of Physics, Colyton Grammar

Phil is the Head of Physics at Colyton Grammar School. He has worked in an Inner-London Comprehensive school as well as with the Ogden Trust as a Senior Teacher Fellow, delivering an outreach programme to primary schools across East Devon. For the past three years, as part of his role as STEM Coordinator, he has also led his school’s Hands-on-Science Outreach at the Sidmouth Science Festival and the Norman Lockyer Observatory.

Jonathan Bishop

Headteacher and CEO, The Cornerstone Academy Trust

Jonathan Bishop is CEO and Executive Headteacher of the Cornerstone Academy Trust. Its founding school, Broadclyst Primary School, is an oversubscribed and successful Outstanding school. Jonathan as the CEO has led on opening a new Free School on the edge of Exeter at Westclyst and is now in the pre-opening phase of another local Free School, Monkerton Primary School. In 2018, having been asked to support a primary school in North Devon through a management partnership agreement, the school has now been sponsored and joined the Trust in January 2019. Westclyst Community Primary secured an Outstanding OfSTED grading in the summer of 2019.

Jonathan is a National Leader of Education, oversees the Cornerstone Teaching School, English Hub, Science Learning Partnership and is opening a new Free School that will be one of only 21 Microsoft Flagship Schools in the world.

As both headteacher of Broadclyst and now trust CEO, Jonathan has led a drive that every child will leave primary school as a reader.

Daisy is our Marketing Assistant for Cornerstone Academy Trust.

She is responsible for the maintenance of all websites across the trust.
